  • 1 cup - shelled, deveined raw prawns
  • 1/2 cup - grated coconut
  • 5 - shallots
  • 1/4 inch - piece Ginger
  • 3-4 leaves - curry leaves
  • 2 cloves - garlic
  • 1 or 2 - green chillies
  • 1/8th tsp - turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make Kerala Style Prawn Cutlet aka Chemmeen Vada

  • Coarsely grind all the ingredients together in a grinder till well blended. Wet your palms and take a small portion from the mixture and make cutlets.
  • Shallow fry in hot oil till golden brown on either side.
  • Serve hot.
