Ingredients

  • 1 bowl - rice
  • 1 to 2 - onions
  • 1 - tomato
  • 4 to 5 - chillies
  • 1 tsp - jeera
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • For seasoning :
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp - channa dal
  • 1 tsp - black gram
  • 5 sprigs - coriander leaves
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 cup - cut vegetables(optional)
  • 2 tbsp - grated coconut

How to Make Kichidi

  • Fry raw rice for 5 mins
  • Heat a cooker, add oil or ghee. Add the seasonings to this along with water.
  • When water starts to boil, add rice.
  • When almost cooked, add the onions, tomatoes, green chillies and vegetables (if using).
  • In the end, add grated coconut and coriander.
