Ingredients

  • 6 - Lemons
  • 1/4 cup - Red chilli powder
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • Oil
  • To roast and grind:
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Asafetida powder

How to Make Lemon Pickle (Pressure Cooker Method)

  • Wash and pressure cook the lemons without adding water. Cook for two whistles.
  • Cool it completely and slice the lemons into small pieces.
  • Add the red chilli powder and salt, toss until the lemon quarters get well coated.
  • Meanwhile dry roast all the ingredients given under -to roast and grind-, and grind into a fine powder.
  • Heat enough oil, splutter the mustard seeds, and add the spiced lemon quarters and ground powder.
  • Cook until they thicken, and remove from heat.
  • When it is completely cooled, store in a bottle.
