  • 250 gm ground lentils
  • 50 gm margarine
  • 25 gm tomato puree
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 100 gm Cooked rice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 litre water
  • 2 tsps. Baharat
  • Juice of 1 lemon

How to Make Lentil soup with Baharat

  • Boil the lentils in 1 litre of water and mash it to a pulp
  • Saute the onions and garlic in the margarine
  • Add remaining ingredients except the rice to the lentils and cook for 45 minutes without a lid
  • Add the cooked rice. Cook for a further 15 minutes
  • Serve hot
