Ingredients

  • For crust:
  • 1 cup - plain flour
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/4 cup - cold water
  • For Filling:
  • 3 cup - pigeon peas (lilva)
  • 1 cup - green peas
  • 1 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp - chopped coriander
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 tsp - amchur powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • a pinch of hing
  • salt as per taste
  • coriander powder

How to Make Lilwa Kachori

  • Take all ingredients needed for the crust and knead them into a soft dough.
  • Keep the dough aside for 15-20 minutes.
  • Take pigeon peas and green peas in a grinder and whip them roughly.
  • Take the chopped peas in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients to them.
  • Mix well and divide the filling into 12 portions.
  • Roll a medium-sized puri and stuff it with this mixture.
  • Fold and make a smooth small ball.
  • Repeat the step and make the remaining balls too.
  • Deep fry them in oil and serve hot with green chutney.
