Ingredients

  • 2 cups - lima beans (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 - onion, big size
  • 1 - tomato, medium size
  • 2 pods - garlic
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger paste
  • chilli powder as desired
  • 1.5 tsp - coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • 1 tsp each - cumin seeds, fennel seeds
  • 2 - cloves
  • 1 - cinnamon

How to Make Lima Beans Curry

  • Chop the onion, tomato and garlic finely.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, clove and cinnamon to it.
  • Then, add the chopped onions.
  • Saute it till it becomes transparent.
  • Now, add garlic and ginger paste to the onions and saute them for a few seconds.
  • Add the chopped tomato to it.
  • Then, add the chilli powder and the coriander powder.
  • Saute it till it gets a slight brown color.
  • Now, add the lima beans and stir it well.
  • Add 1.5 cups of water to the lima beans mixture and salt.
  • Cover the kadai with a lid and cook.
  • Remove the lid when the lima beans curry is in a semi liquid form.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • Garnish it with chopped cilantro (coriander leaves).
