Ingredients

  • For litti covering:
  • 2 cups - aata (wheat flour)
  • 1/4 cup - ghee/oil
  • Salt
  • Water
  • For filling:
  • 1 cup - sattu
  • 2 - green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp - ginger paste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp - ajwain
  • 1 tsp - amchur (dried mango powder)
  • 1 tbsp - lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp - mustard oil
  • 1/2 - stuffed red chilli pickle and 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Achar oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Litti Chokha Recipe

  • Mix the ghee/oil, salt and aata together.
  • Then add water and make it into a tight dough.
  • Cover and keep aside.
  • Make the filling by mixing all the ingredients for the filling together.
  • Divide the dough into 7-8 equal sized balls.
  • Take each ball and flatten a little with hands.
  • Make a depression in the ball, put in the filling and close the ball.
  • Now heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and place the filled balls on a foil.
  • When they turn golden brown, turn them over and cook.
  • Serve hot.
