Ingredients

  • 250 g - lobia (soaked for 3 to 4 hrs)
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 2 green chillies, chopped fine
  • 6 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp - chopped, coriander
  • 1/4 tsp - jeera
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1/2 tbsp - oil
  • salt

How to Make Lobia Sundal (Alasanda Guggillu)

  • Cook soaked lobia with salt in a pressure cooker up to 3 whistles,
  • Drain the beans and keep aside.
  • Heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin, red chilli, crushed garlic and curry leaves
  • Fry till the mustard seeds splutter, add onion and green chilli; fry till the onion becomes pink.
  • Add boiled lobia, mix well, check salt, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves, mix well and keep covered for 1 to 2 mins
  • Remove and serve along with tea.
