  • Mutton - 1/2 Kg
  • Oil - 4 Tablespoon
  • Onion (small) - 10
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry Gravy Powder (Coriander and Chilli mixed powder) - 1 Tablespoon
  • Mutton Masala - 2 Tablespoon
  • Chopped coconut pieces - 5 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli - 2
  • Curry Leaves - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coconut Oil - 3 Tablespoon.

How to Make Madurai Mutton Chukka Varuval

  • Add four tablespoons of oil to a pan.
  • When the oil sizzles, add chopped small onions, garlic, Turmeric powder, gravy powder and salt. Saute.
  • Add half a kilo of mutton to the pan and mix well.
  • Add water to the pan so that the mutton is covered. When the water begins to boil, add Mutton Masala.
  • Keep the flame on for 15 minutes or until the mutton is cooked well. Wait until the oil starts to separate.
  • Take another pan, add coconut oil and red chillies, curry leaves and chopped coconut.
  • Mix these with the mutton and stir well.
