Ingredients

  • 100 g - lady fingers
  • 2 cups - sour buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Grind together:
  • 4 - 5 - green chillies
  • 1/2 inch - ginger
  • 3/4cup - grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp - channa dal (soaked for 1 hour in water)
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp - jeera
  • 1 tbsp - coriander powder
  • salt

How to Make Majjige Huli

  • Cut lady fingers into 1 inch pieces.
  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Stir fry lady fingers till tender.
  • Drain and keep aside.
  • Pour butter milk in the kadai.
  • Bring it to boil, stirring continuously.
  • Add the ground paste, and stir continuously.
  • Add 1/4 cup water, and let it cook for another 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Add fried okra, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with roti.
