  • 2 cups - jeera rice
  • 3 - large onions sliced into thin pieces
  • 4 cups - boiled water
  • 4 tbsp - ghee
  • 4- sticks of cinnamon
  • 6 - cardamom
  • 6 - cloves

How to Make Malabari Ghee Rice

  • Pour ghee into a thick bottomed vessel.
  • Add all the masala into the ghee.
  • When the masala starts to splutter, add onion and fry till they become transparent.
  • Now add the washed rice and fry for 10 mins.
  • Pour boiled water into the rice and add enough salt.
  • Close the vessel and simmer till rice is cooked.
  • Serve hot with Malabar chicken curry and raita.
