Ingredients

  • 1 - medium size green mango, cut into small pieces/grated
  • 4 - green chillies, cut each into two
  • 4 tbsp - grated fresh coconut
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin
  • 1 - red chilli, broken into pieces
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • Salt
  • Asafetida, a pinch
  • 6 - peeled garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 8 - curry leaves
  • 2 tsp - chopped coriander leaves

How to Make Mango coconut chutney

  • Grind mango, coconut, green chillies, salt and garlic into a coarse paste. Keep aside.
  • Prepare tempering with mustard seeds, cumin, asafetida, urad dal, red chilli and curry leaves.
  • Pour this over the prepared chutney, add chopped coriander and mix well.
  • Serve with hot plain rice along with a tsp of ghee.
