Ingredients

  • 1.75 l / 3 pints - mango juice
  • 900 g / 2 lb - sugar
  • 2.25 l/4 pints - milk
  • 450 g / 1 lb - ghee
  • 100 g / 4 oz - flaked almonds
  • 50 g / 2 oz - pistachios, chopped
  • 50 g / 2 oz - raisins

How to Make Mango Halwa

  • Heat the mango juice, sugar and milk in a large pan.
  • Simmer until it reaches a paste-like consistency.
  • Gradually add the ghee, stirring well to prevent the mixture sticking to the pan.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased baking tray.
  • Flatten out evenly then sprinkle with the nuts and raisins.
  • Leave to cool then cut into diamond-shaped pieces.
