Ingredients

  • Cherry or grape tomato/tiny tomato - 1/4 kg
  • Onion (chopped) - 1.5 cups
  • Sesame seed - 2 tbsp
  • Cumin - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1.5 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1.5 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 2 pinches
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Masala Tomato Curry

  • Fry 1/2 cup of the chopped onions in a pan.
  • Roast the sesame seeds and cumin, and grind with coriander powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and the fried onions to make a paste.
  • Make holes in the tomatoes with a fork.
  • Fry the remaining onion pieces with turmeric powder in a pan until they turn golden.
  • Add tomatoes and fry for a few minutes until they become tender.
  • Add the paste and sugar and fry again.
  • Add 1 cup of water, salt and cook on high flame for 5 mins.
  • Lower the flame and cook for another 15 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
