Ingredients

  • Channa dal - 1.5 cups
  • Chopped onions - 1 cup
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Red Chillies - 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Carrot (Grated) - 1/2 cup
  • Curry leaves (Chopped) - 7
  • Mint leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut - 3 tbsp

How to Make Masala Wada

  • Soak channa dal in water for up to 3 hours.
  • Drain the water and grind it with the chillies into a thick paste. The paste should be thick and coarse.
  • Add onions, salt, curry leaves, carrots, mint leaves and coconut to the paste.
  • Make small balls and flatten it. Deep fry in oil until golden brown.
  • Serve hot.
