Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Raw rice (wash and keep aside)
  • 1/4 cup - Masoor Dal (wash and keep aside)
  • 3 - Cardamoms
  • 3 - Cloves
  • 2 - Pieces of cinnamon
  • 2 tsp - Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - Oil or ghee
  • 2 tbsp - Chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Mint leaves
  • 1 - Bay leaf.

How to Make Masoor Dal Kichdi

  • Heat oil in a vessel and fry the whole spices and bay leaves for 2 minutes.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste, chilli powder and saute for a few minutes.
  • Add the washed rice, dal and stir fry for a few minutes.
  • Now add the coriander leaves, mint, salt and 3 cups of water and cook till done.
  • Serve with curd or any curry and pickle.
