Ingredients

  • 1 kg - minced meat
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves - garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium size onion, chopped
  • 1.25 cup - stale breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsps - coriander leaves
  • 1.5 tsp - grated lemon rind
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • For Tomato and Onion Salsa:
  • 5 - red ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 - onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup - basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 clove - garlic, finely minced
  • A pinch of pepper
  • 1 tbsp - fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsps - olive oil

How to Make Meat, Coriander and Mint Patties

  • For Tomato and Onion Salsa:
  • Place all the ingredients in a bowl, and mix well.
  • Leave mixture at room temperature for 25 mins. before serving.
  • Combine all the ingredients in bowl, except oil.
  • Divide into 14 equal portions.
  • Roll each portion of the mixture into a ball, then flatten slightly and shallow fry the patties in hot oil until brown in colour and done.
  • Serve with a salsa of your choice.
