  • 4 cup - cooked rice
  • 1 cup - methi leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup - onion, thinly sliced
  • ¾ cup - tomato, chopped
  • 3 tbsp - ghee or oil
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 pieces cinnamon
  • 3 cardamom
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 2 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • salt to taste

How to Make Methi ka chawal

  • Heat the ghee or oil in a kadai. Add cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
  • After few seconds, add green chilies and onion.
  • Fry till onion is golden brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry till fragrant.
  • Add methi leaves and fry well.
  • Add tomato and fry till it is reduced to a pulp.
  • Add the cooked rice and salt.
  • Mix well and leave covered on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve hot with a raitha.
