Ingredients

  • 250 g - paneer
  • 2 tbsp - kasoori methi
  • 1 - onion, ground
  • 1 floret - garlic, ground
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped fine
  • 1 cup - tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Small quantity of ginger, ground
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Methi Paneer

  • Cut the paneer into cubes and fry (until it becomes light brown in colour).
  • Soak the fried paneer in salted luke warm water for 15-20 minutes.
  • Grind onion, garlic ginger and green chillies in mixie.
  • Heat oil in heavy pan and add cumin seeds, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Stir it.
  • Now add onion, ginger, garlic paste into oil and stir until oil separates.
  • Add tomato paste in it and stir it.
  • Add salt, chilli powder in it and stir until oil separates.
  • Add kasuri methi in the mixture and stir it for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add small quantity of half and half milk.
  • Add small quantity of water, cover it and boil it.
  • Add fried paneer cubes in it.
  • Cover it, turn off the gas and add garam masala.
  • Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
  • Serve it hot with chapatti or naan.
