  • 1 cup - rice flakes
  • 1/2 tsp - black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • few - curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - cashewnuts
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - oil, 1 tbsp - ghee.

How to Make Milagu aval

  • Wash the rice flakes and drain the water.
  • Coarsely grind the black pepper and cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  • In a pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds and when it crackles, add the cashew nuts.
  • When it browns, add rice flakes and the pepper-cumin powder.
  • Saute for a minute, add salt and mix well. Keep on low flame for a while.
  • Serve hot after adding ghee.
