Ingredients

  • 2 cups - mixed beans (any type, soaked)
  • 1 - raw banana
  • 1 - onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 3/4 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 3 - bread slices
  • salt to taste
  • oil as needed
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves (chopped)

How to Make Mixed Beans and Raw Banana Cutlet

  • Pressure-cook the mixed beans with salt and water (up to 3 hisses) and keep aside.
  • Peel the skin and cut the raw banana into large pieces. Pressure-cook (up to 3 hisses).
  • Drain the excess of water from the cooked beans.
  • Mash the cooked beans and cooked raw banana nicely with your fingers into a coarse paste.
  • Heat a few drops of oil and saute the chopped onions with garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder.
  • Add the onion-spice mixture to the beans-banana paste.
  • Soak the bread slices in water, then squeeze out the excess of water.
  • Add the squeezed bread slices and coriander leaves to the beans-raw banana paste. Mix well.
  • Prepare small balls from the paste and flatten them with your palms into any desired shape.
  • Heat oil and fry the cutlets golden brown.
  • Serve with chutney or ketchup.
