Ingredients

  • 1 cup - channa dal
  • 1 cup - moong dal
  • 1/2 cup - arhar dal
  • 2-3 - onions
  • 2 - red chillies
  • 1 pinch - asafoetida
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 inch - turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil

How to Make Mixed Dal Patholi

  • Soak dals for 2-3 hours. Grind them coarsely. Add salt and a pinch of turmeric.
  • Meanwhile cut onions into small pieces.
  • Put a kadhai on stove add 5 tsps of oil and add asafoetida.
  • Add mustard seeds, when they crackle, add urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Add onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the ground dal paste.
  • Keep in medium flame and stir occasionally.
  • Add oil if needed.
  • Fry till light brown.
  • Goes well with rice.
