  • 1/2 cup - raw peanuts
  • 1/4 cup - almonds
  • 1/4 cup - cashews
  • 1/4 cup - pistachios
  • 1/3 cup - sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp - flax seeds
  • 2 tbsp - sunflower seeds
  • 1.5 cups - jaggery
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp - cardamom powder

How to Make Mixed Nuts and Seeds Brittle-Chikki

  • Roast the peanuts in a pan, remove the skin and keep aside.
  • In the same pan, dry-roast the almonds, cashews and pistachios one by one.
  • Heat 1/4 cup of water in a heavy bottomed vessel and add the jaggery.
  • Heat on medium flame until the jaggery dissolves.
  • Strain the jaggery water and heat on high flame, stirring continuously until the mixture turns thick.
  • Add the roasted peanuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, sesame seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, cardamom powder and salt to the jaggery syrup. Stir well until it turns thick.
  • Grease a plate, pour the mixture and allow it to cool completely.
  • Cut and store in an airtight box.
