Ingredients

  • Coconut-half piece grated
  • Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chillies - 5-6
  • Asafoetida - A pinch
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Raw Rice - 2 tsp (soaked)
  • Split Gram - 1 cup
  • Vegetables:
  • Carrot, cauliflower, peas, potato, French beans. Raw groundnut seeds (1/4 cup)

How to Make Mixed Veggies Kootu

  • Pressure cook the split gram and keep aside.
  • Cook all the washed and diced vegetables.
  • Grind all the above-mentioned ingredients to a smooth paste and add to the vegetables and stir and also add the cooked split gram.
  • Add the required amount of salt and mix well.
  • After 10 minutes, remove from fire and add garnishing of curry leaves and a pinch of asafetida in ghee.
  • Serve hot with rice or chapattis.
