  • Basmati Rice-1 cup
  • Mochai-1/4 cup
  • Onion-1
  • Tomato-1

  • Coconut Milk-1/2 cup
  • Jeera-1/4 tsp

  • Cloves-3

How to Make Mochai Thengai Pal Biryani

  • Soak basmati rice and mochai(lima beans)separately in water for half an hour.
  • In a pan, add oil and roast the ingredients given under 'To roast and grind' section.
  • Once cooled, grind them and keep it aside. In a pan, add oil and jeera. Now add cloves, nutmeg and bay leaf.
  • Add chopped onion, tomato and potato pieces. Then, add the soaked rice after draining the water. Mix the soaked mochai along with the rice.
  • With this, add 2 cups of water. Add coconut milk to this mixture. Add salt. Now, add the ground masala.
  • Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Serve hot with any raita of your choice.
