Ingredients

  • 1 cup sprouted moong
  • 2 cups fresh coconut
  • 1 tbsp. coriander leaves
  • 5 red chillies
  • A small ball of tamarind
  • 2 onions
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Mooga Molya Ambat(Sprouted Moong in Coconut Gravy)

  • Boil moong till just cooked.
  • Add turmeric and salt.
  • Heat 1 tbsp. oil and fry coriander seeds and red chillies till just brown.
  • Grind with coconut scrapings and tamarind to a paste.
  • Add to the moong. Add water if necessary.
  • Chop onions, fry in remaining oil till brown and pour over the moong.
  • Boil just once and serve with hot parathas.
