Ingredients

  • 1 cup - moong dal (green gram dal)
  • 1 - big carrot (grated)
  • 1 sprig - coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp - coconut (shredded)
  • a dash of lime
  • salt to taste
  • For seasoning: 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds

How to Make Moong Dal and Carrot Salad

  • Soak moong dal for an hour and drain.
  • Cook the dal and keep aside to cool.
  • Then add in all the ingredients, except salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds splutter, add them to the mixture and mix well.
  • Add salt just before serving.
