Ingredients

  • 1 - shevto (mullet)
  • 1 - fresh coconut
  • For grinding:
  • 6 - dry red chillies
  • 1 - turmeric
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • For mincing:
  • 3 - onions
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 6 flakes - garlic
  • 2 - tomatoes
  • 1 inch - ginger
  • A few sprigs - coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp - vinegar
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Mullet Stew

  • Wash the fish, cut and keep aside.
  • Mix all the ingredients and grind into a fine paste.
  • Mix all the other ingredients to mince.
  • Grind the coconut and extract the thick and thin juice.
  • Warm some ghee in a pot, add sliced onion and fry.
  • Add the ground masala and fry, add the minced masala and cook.
  • Add the thin juice of the coconut, vinegar and salt to taste, and cook till the onions are soft.
  • Add the fish and cook for about ten minutes.
  • Add the thick coconut juice and boil for five minutes.
