  • 2 cup - Murmura (Puffed rice)
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 1/2 to 1 bunch - Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
  • 4 tbsp Fried Channa Dal
  • 1/4 ball size Tamarind juice
  • Seasoning:
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Jeera
  • Curry Leaves
  • Red Chilli (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Murmura Snack

  • Soak Murmura in water for about 10 mins and drain.
  • Chop onions into small pieces and keep aside.
  • Grind together green chillies, coriander leaves, grated coconut and fried channa dal without any water.
  • Take oil in a kadai and when it is hot, put the seasoning items. After they splutter, add onions and saute them well till they are golden brown.
  • Now add the ground powder and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add salt and turmeric powder to the mixture. Fry it for 2 mins.
  • Now add the drained Murmura and tamarind juice.
  • Mix it well so that the murmura gets coated well with the powder. Add a little more oil if necessary.
  • Close the lid and cook for 5 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
