Ingredients

  • 100 g - murmure
  • 1/2 cup - sev
  • 1/2 cup - roasted channa dal
  • 1 - small piece ginger
  • 2 - medium sized or 1 - big onion
  • 3 - medium sized tomatoes
  • 1 - green chilli
  • 2 - red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric
  • Coriander, finely chopped as per taste
  • Salt as per taste
  • For Seasoning: 4 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 tsp - channa dal
  • few karipatta
  • few groundnuts
  • For Garnishing: coriander, finely chopped
  • lemon

How to Make Murmure Upma

  • Take a big kadai, put oil. When hot add mustard seeds.
  • Then add channa and urad dal and let it fry for a minute.
  • Add the groundnuts and roast it for a while.
  • Add curry patta and finely chopped ginger.
  • Fry for a minute.
  • Add very finely chopped onion and green chilli.
  • Let fry till soft and done, almost brown.
  • Then add finely chopped tomatoes. Let it cook.
  • Meanwhile, when the tomatoes are almost done, wash murmure in more water and drain thoroughly.
  • Keep it aside and add roasted channa dal.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric and salt to taste.
  • Add the drained murmure and mix thoroughly.
  • Fry for 3-5 mins.
  • Then add sev just before switching off the stove, add coriander.
  • Serve it hot.
