Ingredients

  • 3 cups - mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 tbsp - butter
  • 1 cup - cooked chicken pieces
  • 1/4 cup - boiled corn
  • 1/4 tsp - minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp - plain four
  • 1.5 cups - milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 3/4 cup - grated cheese
  • 1 cup - bread croutons
  • 1tsp - oregano

How to Make Mushroom Casserole

  • Heat 2 tbsp butter.
  • Add mushroom, chicken pieces and garlic.
  • Saute till mushrooms are well done.
  • Add corn and saute for another 2-3 mins.
  • Remove from fire.
  • In another pan, heat remaining butter.
  • Add flour and stir continuously.
  • After 2-3 mins, add milk and stir.
  • Add salt and pepper powder.
  • Cook till the white sauce thickens.
  • Add 2 tbsp of sauce to mushroom mixture. Mix well.
  • In a greased casserole, make a bed of bread croutons.
  • Spread 1/2 of the mushroom mixture.
  • Then make a layer of white sauce.
  • Spread remaining mushroom mixture and top with white sauce.
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese and the oregano.
  • Bake at 350 degrees centigrade for 35-40 mins.
  • Serve with toasted bread.
