Mushroom Manchurian is an Indian Chinese fried mushroom dish that's popular as a snack and side dish. Mushroom Manchurian is prepared in two stages. The mushrooms are first deep fried in a batter of flour (maida) and cornflour. In the second stage, the deep fried mushrooms are sauteed with chopped onion, ginger, capsicum and garlic in soy, tomato and chili sauce. Mushroom Manchurian can be served as a starter or snack.   • 2 tbsp. refined flour
  • 250 gram fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tsp. ginger-garlic paste
  • Half tsp. soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp. canola oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 tbsp. water

1 tsp. ginger-garlic paste 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. canola oil
  • 2 tbsp. spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tsp. soya sauce
  • ½ tbsp. chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp. tomato ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Mushroom Manchurian with gravy

    • Wash and clean mushrooms. Cut them into small pieces.
    • Mix maida, cornflour, ginger-garlic paste, half a teaspoon soy sauce, salt & water in a bowl. Mix and make a medium thick batter. Dip mushrooms pieces in prepared batter and coat them with it.
    • Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry mushrooms over medium heat until they turn light golden brown. Take them out from oil and drain excess oil.
    • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a wok. Add ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chilli and diced onion. Saute on high flame for 1-2 minutes.
    • Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, salt, fried mushroom and spring onion. Mix well and serve hot.
