How to Make Mutton Channa dal Curry

  • Boil the channa dal in a cooker for one whistle such that it retains its shape(half boiled), and keep it aside.
  • Cut the mutton to bite-size pieces and wash it and keep it aside.
  • Make a paste of all the masalas.
  • Now take a saucepan and put oil in it and fry onions and green chillies till they are light brown in colour.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and garam masala paste to it, fry for 2-3 mins.
  • Add mutton, salt, turmeric and stir on high heat for 3 mins, then simmer until all the water is gone and the mutton is tender.
  • Now add water and pressure cook for 7 to 8 whistles.
  • When the mutton is cooked, add the cooked channa dal to it and simmer it for 10 mins until heated through.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  • Goes well with hot rice .
