Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - mutton, chopped
  • 2 - potatoes, quartered
  • 2 - carrots chopped into big pieces
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 1/2 inch - ginger
  • 5 - garlic flakes
  • 4 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 5 - cloves
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 6 - black peppercorns
  • 1/2 inch - cinnamon
  • 2 - cardamoms
  • 1/4 tsp - black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp - maida
  • 1/4 tsp - vinegar
  • 2 cups - coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Mutton Stew with Veggies

  • In a small pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and saute onions till golden brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, bay leaves, cloves, cardamom, black pepper and cinnamon.
  • Saute for 5 mins.
  • Remove from fire and keep aside.
  • In a big pan, heat the remaining oil.
  • Add flour and saute for 3 mins.
  • Add mutton pieces and simmer for 5 mins.
  • Add 3/4th of coconut milk, vinegar and cook till meat pieces are half cooked.
  • Add potatoes, carrot and fried masala.
  • Add salt and pepper powder.
  • Cook till vegetables are tender and meat is completely cooked.
  • Add the remaining coconut milk.
  • Boil for 2 mins.
  • Remove from fire.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot.
