Ingredients

  • 200 g - dry anchovy (nettili)
  • 5 tsp - grated coconut
  • 5 - red chillies
  • 1 - garlic pod
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • Curry leaves, a few
  • Coriander leaves, a few
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Nettili Sambol (Dry Fish Sambol)

  • Wash dry fish, strain dry and keep aside.
  • Make sure that there are no sand particles on it.
  • Heat wok, add oil, fry dry fish, remove and keep aside.
  • In the remaining oil, fry the garlic pod, red chillies, grated coconut, curry leaves and coriander leaves till brown.
  • Add everything along with salt and blend coarsely.
  • Do not add water, it should be absolutely dry and coarse.
  • Sprinkle in steamed rice or eat as side dish with steamed rice or chapatti.
