  • 2 cups of grated Coconut
  • 1 cup of grated Jaggery
  • Oil to deep fry
  • 2 cups of Wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Kishmish (optional) 10-12 pieces

How to Make Newari

  • Make dough using wheat flour add salt to this.
  • This should be like chapatti dough.
  • Add grated coconut, jaggery and mix well.
  • Heat this mixture till homogeneous.
  • Add kishmish to it.
  • Take a lump of dough and make puri out of it. Fill above mixture in it and give it karanji shape. Cut it with knife.
  • Make similar karanjis of remaining dough.
  • Deep-fry them.
