  • Cardamom - 3
  • Cloves -2
  • Cinnamon - a small piece
  • Onion (chopped) - 2
  • Tomato - 2
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Potato - 2
  • Carrot -1
  • Beans - 1/2 cup
  • Peas - 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves
  • Mint leaves
  • Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coconut - 2 tsp
  • Cashewnut - 10
  • Poppy seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Aniseed - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Old-fashioned Vegetable Kurma

  • Heat oil add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and fry for 30 secs.
  • Add green chillies, mint leaves, coriander leaves and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add onion, fry till brown. Then add tomato and fry for 2 mins.
  • Add the vegetables, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and 2 glasses of water. Cook the vegetables for 10 mins.
  • Make a paste of coconut, cashewnut, poppy seeds, aniseeds and cook for another 5-6 mins.
  • Serve.
