  • 500 g - chicken breast (without skin)
  • 200 g - green capsicums
  • 1 cup - spring onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp - ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp - garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1 tsp- red chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - sugar
  • salt to taste

How to Make Oriental Chicken with Peppers

  • Cut the chicken breast into one centimetre-wide strips.
  • Add all the ingredients including ginger and salt, and marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Roast the sesame seeds till they begin to crackle.
  • Remove from heat and reserve.
  • Cut the capsicums into halves, discard the seeds and cut them into centimetre-wide strips.
  • Heat oil in a wok. Add capsicum and stir fry till they wilt.
  • Add the chicken with the marinade.
  • Stir fry briefly.
  • Cover and leave on slow flame till the chicken is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Add spring onion and cook for a minute.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  • Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
