  • Broken basmathi rice
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 2 cups - Milk
  • 8 strands - Saffron

How to Make Pal payasam (pressure cooked kheer )

  • Put all the ingredients together in a big pressure cooker.
  • Bring to full pressure, then reduce heat and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Remove cooker from heat and allow it to cool naturally.
  • Place cooker on medium heat and cook until a creamy consistency is obtained, stirring constantly.
  • Place the payasam (kheer) in serving dish.
  • Serve hot or cold.
