Palak Paneer Stew is a nutritious combination of Spinach(Palak) and Paneer( Indian Cottage Cheese) flaovered in Indian spices- cumin, coriander, garam masala. This can be served as a Stew or as a Palak curry along with Rice and Phulkas. If you are combining this with continental cuisine, the Palak Paneer Stew can also make an interesting side dish to bread for vegetarians. In all you would need about 30 mins to prepare this stew in a Microwave.

Ingredients

  • 2 bundles Palak/Spinach
  • 200 gm - Paneer (cut into cubes)
  • 2 nos Onion (chopped) 5 - 6 nos - Garlic pods
  • 1/2 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 no Green chilly
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp - Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam masala powder
  • 2 nos Tomato chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup - Milk
  • 2 tbsp - Kasoori methi
  • 1 tbsp - Oil
  • Salt as require

How to Make Palak Paneer Stew

  • In a micro proof deep bowl, put oil, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, green chillies, onion, 2 tsp coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.
  • Microwave for 5 mins.
  • Remove and to the same bowl add tomatoes, cleaned palak, kasoori methi. Mix well & microwave for 8 mins.
  • Cool the palak and blend it with 1/2 cup water.
  • Put this palak puree into the same micro proof dish and add red chilli powder, paneer, salt, 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup water. Mix well and microwave for 5 mins.
  • Serve hot.
