Ingredients

  • paneer - 75 gm, cut into very tiny pieces
  • rice flour - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Chana (black gram) Dal - 1 cup
  • chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • onion - 1 cup, minced
  • coriander leaves - 1/2 cup, minced
  • curry leaves few, finely chopped
  • oil to fry
  • salt to taste

How to Make Paneer Masala Vada

  • Soak dal in water for 2 hours.
  • Drain and grind to a stiff coarse paste.
  • Mix in rest of the ingredients except oil.
  • Take lime sized balls of this mixture and flatten to a discs, one and a half cm thick.
  • Deep-fry few at a time in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.
