Peas Pulao is an easy-to-make Vegetarian rice recipe made with basmati rice and savoury peas. Follow the same simple preparation of pulao and add boiled peas to it - Voila! 

The tasty basmati rice is pressure cooked along with a blend of flavourful ingredients. Desi spices like cinnamon, cloves, jeera, bay leaf, green chillies give a tempting aromatic flavour to the dish. 

Peas Pulao is a wholesome meal and is best served with onion raita.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup - basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup - frozen peas
  • 2 (1 inch sticks) - cinnamon
  • 5 - cloves
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 or 2 - green chillies
  • 1/2 cup - onions, chopped
  • cilantro for garnishing
  • 2 tbsp - ghee(clarified butter)
  • 1 tbsp - oil

How to Make Peas Pulav

  • Rinse and soak basmati rice in water for 15 minutes. Heat oil and ghee in a pan. Temper cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf and jeera.
  • When they crackle, add onions and green chillies.
  • Fry till onions turn golden brown.
  • Throw in peas and fry for a minute and take off heat.
  • For 1 cup of rice, add 2 cups of water, fried onions and peas, salt and cook in the rice cooker.
