Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Gram flour/ besan
  • 3 tsp - Oil
  • 4 cups - Water
  • 6 - Green chillies
  • 4 - Cloves of garlic
  • 1 - Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Pithla

  • Make a smooth paste out of besan and water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds, onion and saute till onion becomes translucent.
  • Add turmeric powder and garlic and green chilli, fry for a minute.
  • Add besan paste, mix and keep adding small amount of water till you get the right consistency.
  • This will take around 12-15 minutes.
  • Add salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
