  • 2 cups - besan
  • 1 - green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp - carrots, shredded
  • 1 tbsp - beans, shredded
  • 2 tbsp - tomato, chopped
  • 1 bunch - coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 tsp - black pepper (kali mirch) powder
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - chaat masala
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 cups - water to make a smooth batter
  • Oil for cooking

How to Make Plain Besan ka Cheela

  • Put all the ingredients except water in a big bowl.
  • Now start adding small quantities of water to make a smooth batter, so that there are no lumps.
  • Add water till it becomes like dosa batter. Set aside.
  • Heat a non-stick- tawa or frying pan on a medium flame.
  • Pour a little oil on tawa and spread a ladleful of batter evenly on it.
  • Cover with lid just for a minute.
  • Then remove lid, drizzle some oil on the top and turn it upside down.
  • Let it brown and crispen on both sides.
  • Repeat the same with rest of the batter.
  • Serve hot with any chutney or sauce.
