Ingredients

  • 1 kg - rice [soaked for 20 minutes]
  • 1 kg - mutton or chicken
  • 2 tsp - onion paste
  • 4 tsp - garlic paste
  • 2 tsp - ginger paste
  • 2 tsp - coriander paste
  • 2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 2 - medium onions, chopped
  • 4 - boiled eggs
  • 8 tbsp - cooking oil
  • 10 - cardamoms
  • salt to taste

How to Make Plain Biryani

  • Heat the oil, add chopped onions and fry until they turn brown.
  • Then add mutton or chicken.
  • Stir and cook for two minutes.
  • Then add the cloves, cardamoms and salt to taste.
  • After frying the mixture for ten minutes, add the paste of onions, ginger and garlic.
  • Allow to cook for two minutes while stirring, and then add the red chilli, coriander and turmeric powders.
  • Add 1 litre of water and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Then add the rice and cook on low fire until it is ready.
