Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - cut pieces of chicken
  • 2 cups - long grain rice
  • 1 cup - coconut milk
  • 2 tsp - ginger and garlic paste
  • 2 - onions (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup - curd
  • 1 tsp - red chilly powder
  • 1 bunch - mint leaves
  • 3 tsp - ghee
  • a few pieces - clove
  • small stick - cinnamon
  • a few green cardamom
  • salt to taste

How to Make Plain Chicken Biryani

  • Heat ghee. Add chopped onions and fry till golden.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, cardamom, cinnamon, chilli powder, beaten curd and chicken pieces.
  • Let it boil for a while.
  • Add washed rice, salt and mint leaves and enough water.
  • Cover it with a thick lid and slow cook on medium flame.
  • Open the lid once done and garnish with fried dry fruits.
