Ingredients

  • 2 cups - packed cilantro leaves, chopped fine
  • 1 cup - chickpea flour/besan
  • 1 tbsp - rice flour
  • 1/4 cup - grated coconut
  • 4 - green chillies, minced fine
  • 2 tsp - lemon juice
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp - poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp - turmeric
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 tsp - sugar
  • 1 pinch - asafoetida
  • oil for frying
  • salt to taste

How to Make Plain Kothimbir Vadi

  • Mix the cilantro, coconut, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, lemon juice, turmeric, asafetida, garam masala, sugar and salt properly.
  • Then, heat oil in a pan and fry this for some time.
  • In a bowl, take besan and rice flour, and add a little bit of salt and chill powder and water and make a dough.
  • Keep it aside.
  • Make small balls of the dough and make small chapatis of it.
  • Add the fried mixture into each of the chapatis and fold it well.
  • Now, heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chapatis till golden brown.
  • Take it out and cut it into small slices.
  • The kothimbir vadi is ready.
