Ingredients

  • One big raw mango
  • Chilli powder (as per taste)
  • Jeera - 1 tbsp
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Jaggery powdered - 2 tsp
  • Coconut grated 1/4 cup
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Curry leaves - 1 stick (or four to five leaves)
  • Split horse bean - 1 tbsp

How to Make Plain Mango Chutney

  • Peel the green covering of the raw mango. Cut it into big pieces.
  • Add half the jeera, salt, jaggery, chilli powder and grated coconut in a mixie jar. Grind till smooth.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add the remaining ingredients and fry them.
  • Pour the chutney off the jar into a bowl and add the oil and fried ingredients to it.
