Ingredients

  • Methi - 1/2 kg
  • Onion - 2
  • Garlic pods - 4
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil/Ghee
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp -
  • A pinch of hing
  • 4 cups - cooked rice

How to Make Plain Methi Rice

  • Heat oil in a pan and season with mustard, jeera, fenugreek and hing.
  • When mustard splutters, add finely chopped garlic, onion and green chilli.
  • Add finely chopped methi and fry till done.
  • Add salt, red chilli powder and saute for a minute.
  • Blend this with steamed rice and serve with pappad.
