Ingredients

  • Eggs - 2
  • Maida - 3/4 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Baking Powder - 3/4 tsp
  • Milk - 2 tbsps
  • Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp

How to Make Plain Microwave Basic Sponge Cake

  • Sieve flour and baking powder together. Keep aside.
  • Powder the sugar. Put sugar and eggs in a large mixing bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Remove from the mixie and add maida and baking powder.
  • Fold in the flour and then add essence to it.
  • Mix it fully and finally pour the mixture into a greased plate.
  • Instead of a cake tin, you could use a glass bowl.
  • To Bake: Microwave in 'crisp mode' for 6 mins at 850 watts.
  • Cool it for 10 mins and remove from the tin.
